Job Description

The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment whilst developing higher professional maturity and professionalism during the RANZCOG Advanced Training Program, with the goal of obtaining FRANZCOG. Provisional Fellows will, under an appropriate level of supervision by senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system. 

The purpose of the position is to provide clinical support to the Department of  Medical Imaging while working towards obtaining the DDU and/or COGU. This  post is primarily in Diagnostic Ultrasound and is suitable for an Obstetrician or Radiologist who has recently obtained a Fellowship of the RANZCOG or  RANZCR, or one who is in their last years of training. 

The position represents an opportunity for involvement in a leading Department  with an Obstetric, Prenatal, Neonatal and Gynaecological focus. It is expected  that fellows with suitable training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology would participate in the after-hours roster. Conditions are on the basis of qualifications. This is not a  postgraduate fellow position.

  2. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise
  4. Demonstrated time management and problem solving skills
  5. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
  7. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self education.
  8. Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
