OGB are pleased to offer a training position as Senior Registrar in O&G for 2027.  OGB provides private Obstetric care for over 500 women per year.  There are also approximately 1500 births per year at Grampians Health, Ballarat, and our Senior registrars will have the opportunity to contribute to this public service. OGB provides over 2500 Gynaecology procedures for our patients per year in a group practice setting, with a significant number of procedures being performed through the public system. This position provides the Trainees with the opportunity to work in an environment which provides intensive and consistent training in the areas of complex laparoscopic surgery, including laparoscopic Hysterectomy; complex, site specific pelvic floor surgery, and Gynaecological ultrasound encompassing assessment and diagnosis of endometriosis. The Gynaecological Cancer Centre at the Royal Hospital for women is one of 6 major tertiary referrals units for gynaecological cancer in NSW. The Centre sees approximately 300 new cases of invasive gynaecological cancer per year. The Fellow will be part of a multidisciplinary team, which will include gynaecological medical and radiation oncologist, medical specialists, palliative care physicians, genetic counsellors, nurses and paramedical personal. The inpatients are nursed in a 25-bed ward, which includes patients with breast cancer and benign gynaecological problems. About 40% of the patients come from rural NSW and the remainder from the metropolitan area. It is a multicultural group of patients. The doctor will be on the after- hours roster for oncology patients. There will always be a trainee and resident in O & G. A Medicare Provider Number will be required. The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment whilst developing higher professional maturity and professionalism during the RANZCOG Advanced Training Program, with the goal of obtaining FRANZCOG.
