Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist - Fixed-term

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic consultant to join our dedicated team in Women's and Children's Health to cover sabbatical leave. A commitment to patient-centred care and multi-disciplinary teamwork is essential. Applicants must be both flexible in their approach and be willing to contribute positively to the service with particular focus on elective services. The applicant must be eligible for medical registration in New Zealand.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Ward rounds and ward work
  • Outpatient clinics
  • Pre-theatre assessments and operation lists
  • On-call duties
  • Multi-disciplinary meetings, case conferences and reviews

About you

To be successful in this role, you'll need the following:

  • Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology scope of practice
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships within a fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environment, supporting effective change management and service improvement
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, resolve conflict, and positively influence and motivate colleagues across multidisciplinary teams
