Obstetrics and Gynaecology Medical Specialist
Our Purpose The Canterbury District Health Board systematically plan, fund and deliver care to almost 600,000 people that live in the Canterbury region. The Canterbury Health System is a world leader in the delivery of integrated health care. Our main focus is placing people (staff and patients alike) at the centre of everything we do. The Team Christchurch women's hospital is a busy tertiary referral centre with approximately 6000 deliveries per year and incorporates a feto-maternal medicine department. We have a large generalist population of Senior Medical Officers who provide cover for our service and are the regional referral centre for Gynaecology Oncology for the South Island. We are a training centre for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RANZCOG) and have a complement of both training and non-training registrars within our service. The Role We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Medical Officers to join our team covering the services of both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We are looking for permanent, full-time Obstetrics and Gynaecology Medical Specialists. You will be expected to partake in the general duties of the department to fulfil service requirements, which includes clinics such as antenatal, gynaecology, colposcopy and outpatient hysteroscopy, as well as acute and elective gynaecology services, as required. There is opportunity to further develop within areas of special interest, for example ambulatory gynaecology, laparoscopic surgery and gynae oncology, depending upon your skill set. You will also be required to take part in the obstetrics and gynaecology on-call roster.
