QEII Urogynaecology fellow role 2027

QEII is excited to offer a 12-month urogynaecology fellow position for 2027.
QEII Jubilee Hospital, on Brisbane’s southside, is one of five major facilities within Metro South Health and one of Queensland’s busiest gynaecology services. The hospital serves a diverse community and is located in Coopers Plains, 12km from the Brisbane CBD. The urogynaecology department provides the only subspecialist urogynaecology service within Metro South Health, and also services a referral area covering four other Hospital and Health Services in Southern Queensland. QEII Hospital is a busy, gynaecology-only unit which offers a broad range of generalist and subspecialty gynaecology services.
Position description:
QEII hospital is seeking a urogynaecology fellow for a 12-month fixed term, commencing February 2027. The role includes a 0.4FTE public appointment at QEII, with the remainder of a full-time role comprised of urogynaecology work in the private sector with your training supervisors, and is remunerated privately.
The public component includes a combination of urogynaecology clinics, urogynaecology theatre lists, urodynamics and protected non-clinical time. The urogynaecology fellow participates in the gynaecology registrar on-call roster in a pro-rata capacity, alongside the hospital’s four advanced trainees (approx. 1 weeknight/fortnight and 1:9 weekends). The urogynaecology service performs both laparoscopic and vaginal surgery, and regular exposure to advanced laparoscopic procedures such as laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy is a feature of the role.
Who should apply?
The QEII Urogynaecology Fellow role is suited to either a 3rd year CU trainee, or an unaccredited trainee (e.g. RANZCOG Advanced trainee in 5th or 6th year) who is keen to pursue CU training in the future. The role has been successfully accredited as a full-time RANZCOG Advanced Training role with the opportunity to complete the Pelvic Floor Disorders SIM. The position may be suitable for a 1st or 2nd year CU trainee, pending CU accreditation, and we encourage interested candidates to apply.
