Overview:
QEII is excited to offer three 12-month gynaecology advanced training positions for 2027.
These roles offer advanced trainees the opportunity to work in a dynamic gynaecology-only unit that provides a broad range of generalist and subspecialist gynaecology services. Exceptional surgical exposure, both in volume and complexity of cases, is a feature of these roles.
QEII Jubilee Hospital, on Brisbane’s southside, is one of five major facilities within Metro South Health and one of Queensland’s busiest gynaecology services. The hospital serves a diverse community and is located in Coopers Plains, 12km from the Brisbane CBD.
Position description:
QEII hospital is seeking advanced trainees (RANZCOG 5th or 6th year) for these three full-time 12 month roles, commencing February 2027.
Trainees at QEII rotate through different advanced gynaecology training roles, working in the fields of advanced laparoscopic, robotic and hysteroscopic surgery, urogynaecology and pelvic floor disorders, colposcopy, pelvic pain, sexual and reproductive health, and general gynaecology. There is flexibility to prioritise rotations in a particular interest area if desired. The successful candidates will participate in a 1:4 after hours remote on-call roster, which is typically valued by our trainees as excellent preparation for specialist practice after training. All trainees in the department are expected to participate in the departmental education program, medical student teaching, M&M meetings and audits, and are afforded ample non-clinical time to make the most of these opportunities.
