per fortnight with the possibility of extension to a maximum of 24 months

Your Opportunity
▪ The purpose of this role is to train the successful applicant in all aspects of Gynaecologic Oncology and provide a service to treat women referred to the RBWH. The applicant will undertake emergency, inpatient and outpatient care of Gynaecologic Oncology patients. To assist and be trained in various aspects of Gynaecologic Oncology surgery including colorectal and urological procedures relevant to Gynaecologic Oncology practice. Undertake relevant training in Medical and Radiation oncology
under the direction of the Director of Medical and Radiation Oncology or his/her representative. Undertake research under the direction of the Director of Research in Gynaecologic Oncology. Undertake relevant training in aspects of Gestational Trophoblastic Disease under the
direction of the Director, Deputy Director and CNC of the Queensland Trophoblast Centre.


▪ The Queensland Centre for Gynaecologic Cancers (QCGC) comprises Consultant Gynaecologic Oncologists at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), Mater and Gold Coast University Hospitals. QCGC services a population of over 5 million women and sees approximately 4500 new referrals per year. One position rotates between Mater (6 months) and RBWH (6 months) under a vocational training agreement, this position is most suitable for a CGO Trainee. The second position is
based at RBWH for 12 months, this position is more suitable for a Generalist O&G trainee with an interest in gynaecologic oncology.  Training with QCGC will provide exposure to complex laparoscopic, open and vulval surgical procedures and allow development of skills to manage women diagnosed with a gynaecologic malignancy, complex benign gynaecology and practice as an independent gynaecologic oncologist.


Context and Delegations
▪ This role provides clinical services within Gynaecology Oncology unit, Women’s and Newborn Services.
▪ Reports directly to: Dr Andrea Garrett, Clinical Lead for Gynaecology Oncology and Dr Peter Ganter, Clinical Director O&G.
▪ This role has a professional reporting line to: Chief Medical Officer and Director Medical Services, RBWH

Your Key Accountabilities
This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

▪ Perform medical administrative tasks as required.


Mandatory Qualifications/Professional Registration/other Requirements
▪ A medical degree from a registered tertiary institution acceptable by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (Ahpra) and the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) for registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia.
▪ Membership or Fellowship of the RANZCOG, MRCOG, or equivalent training program acceptable by the Ahpra and the MBA for applicable registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia in General Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
▪ Specialist registration with the MBA in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or eligibility for general or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
▪ Candidates who have completed all fellowship assessment tasks and only have time left in training to complete may be considered.
▪ To be appointed as a Senior Registrar (Level 10 - Level 13), the candidate must have specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
▪ Certified copies of the required information, including qualifications must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
▪ Appointment to this position as a Senior Registrar requires proof of qualification and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
▪ It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16):
− Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
− Varicella (chicken pox)
− Pertussis (whooping cough)
− Hepatitis B
− Tuberculosis
