The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology team at Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Staff Specialist to join their team on a Permanent Full-Time (80 hrs p.f.) or Permanent Part-Time (options available) basis.

 

Mackay Hospital and Health Service  has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.

The Mackay Base Hospital is a modern, digital-focus facility in a North Queensland coastal location only 1.5 hours flight from Brisbane.  An opportunity is available to join our friendly team of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.  We are seeking a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist who is able to manage a generalist workload in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.  We have a strong focus on providing quality care, centred and focussed around the woman and her family.  We are committed to maintaining a positive workforce culture and having the trust of our community.

Mandatory qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements

Appointment to this position requires the proof of Specialist registration in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Medical Board of Australia, or eligibility to hold Specialist registration or relevant registration enabling clinical work within the role.

 

Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship via the substantial comparability pathway of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and have been assessed as comparable.  

 

The applicant must be able to demonstrate recent clinical practice relevant to the scope of this role, consistent with the Medical Board of Australia's registration standards.

 

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against diseases as listed on the role description.
