Purpose of the role Redlands Hospital is a moderate sized general obstetrics and gynaecology service birthing approximately 1500 – 1600 women over 32 weeks’ gestation with a BMI less than 50 per year. We provide general gynaecology care to women who have a BMI less than 50. The Staff Specialist role will provide high-quality, evidence-based obstetric and gynaecological care across inpatient, outpatient, procedural, emergency and on-call services within Redland Hospital and Wynnum Primary Care Centre. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role will contribute to safe, patient-centred clinical service delivery that aligns with the hospital’s Clinical Services Capability Framework. This role is fixed term (28/12/2026 - 04/04/2027) covering within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialty within the Clinical Operations division. The position is full time, however fractional appointments and shorter periods of appointment can be considered for suitable applicants. The responsibilities of the role are to provide highest standards of Obstetrics and Gynaecology practice, support to the medical education effort in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and other relevant clinical services for patients of Bendigo Health, as well as supervision and training of junior medical staff.
