Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

This position is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist to join our team.

Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) is located in one of Perth's fastest-growing regions, and with around eight babies born in our public hospital to local residents daily, we need to expand our obstetric and gynaecological team.

JHC has an 8-room birth suite with 24-hour access to anesthesia and neonatology. Our Neonatal nursery will treat neonates > 32 weeks gestation. We also have an adult ICU, HDU and after-hours medical/surgical specialty support.

There is a complex care clinic with an Obstetric Physician, Social Worker, Psych Liaison Nurse, Diabetic Educator and Dietitian.

 The successful applicant/s for this position will join a multidisciplinary team (Consultants, Registrars, RMOs, and midwifery staff) to assess and manage public obstetric and gynaecology patients.

The successful applicant/s for this position will join a multidisciplinary team (Consultants, Registrars, RMO/Intern, nursing staff and allied health) involved in assessing and managing people within the public maternity/ obstetrics & gynaecology unit at JHC.

There is a consultants' after-hours roster to provide after-hours on-call and call-back service to the hospital. 

Salary range, depending on experience – Consultant Year 1-9 (Total package range $390,665 - $490,020 pro rata, plus generous on-call rates).

Essential Criteria: 

• Current AHPRA registration.
• Fellowship of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists
• Availability to work after-hours on-call and weekends.

Desirable Criteria:

• Minimum Gynaecology experience would be basic laparoscopy for ectopic pregnancy and ovarian torsion.
• Qualifications such as a Diploma In Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) would be highly regarded.
