Advanced Trainee – Operative Gynaecological focus
South West Health Care, Warrnambool O&G, and OGB are pleased to offer a Gynaecology focused Senior Registrar position in O&G for 2021.  This position is for the first of a 2-year program based in Warrnambool, which will continue as the OGB Senior registrar in Ballarat for 2022.  SWHC provides a comprehensive gynaecology service including advanced laparoscopic surgery, involving both laparoscopic hysterectomies and endometriosis surgery as well as pelvic floor reconstruction and vaginal hysterectomies. It services 700 births per year and has a large catchment area extending to south Australia. IT has a strong focus on hands on registrar experience and building a strong foundation. OGB provides over 2500 Gynaecology procedures for their patients per year within a group practice environment, and the position allows rostering for the successful applicant to perform surgical procedures with OGB senior consultants for one day per week in addition to SWHC commitments within the first year. Year two of this position will require the trainee to reside and work full time in Ballarat with OGB to build upon the first foundation year with an aim to graduate with advanced minimally invasive and pelvic floor surgical skills. This position provides Trainees with an opportunity, over a two-year period, to work in a position which provides intensive and consistent training in the areas of complex minimally invasive laparoscopic and vaginal surgery and site specific pelvic floor surgery. It also provides training in Gynaecological ultrasound encompassing assessment and diagnosis of endometriosis. Your Obstetric training opportunities will not be forgotten with training in operative Obstetrics and complicated births as well as exposure to IVF and Infertility management.
