Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) covers an area of 247,000 square kilometres.
Geographically, we are the largest of all 15 LHD's within NSW.

The estimated population in 2021 was 279,422 residents with a projection by 2031 to have increased to 286,410 within Western NSW. 11% of our population are people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Within the Western LHD we provide innovative healthcare through a vast range of services such as the largest rural mental health service in Australia. We have 3 major rural referral hospitals located at Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst, within the LHD we have 38 inpatient facilities, including 25 multipurpose services. There are around 50 community health centres with a wide range of multidisciplinary primary and community health services.
