The Team: The role is part of the Launceston General Hospital which is Tasmania’s second largest hospital. Our level 5 unit has approximately 1600 births per year. There is a neonatal unit providing care from 32 weeks gestation. The unit enjoys a collaborative relationship between midwifery and obstetric staff with several models of midwifery care being offered as well as care of high risk pregnancies by the obstetric staff. Comprehensive gynaecological services are provided by the unit. Up to level 6 laparoscopy is offered as well as hysteroscopic procedures, urogynecological procedures at a generalist level, and more traditional open and vaginal surgery. Gynaecology Oncology at Monash Health  Gynaecological cancer care at Monash Health is provided by a dedicated group of gynaecological oncologists through the Monash Cancer Centre at Moorabbin Hospital in East Bentleigh. We support the largest population catchment in Victoria - spanning east to the Gippsland, as well as the Frankston catchment and surrounding Ballarat populations.   We work closely with other oncology specialties to provide first-class care to women in our care and have affiliations with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre through our radiation oncology unit.
