Townsville University Hospital offers up to two advanced/senior registrar positions for 2023. These posts are suitable for advanced trainees wishing to complete a RANZCOG Generalist Obstetrics and Gynaecology Advanced Training Module (ATM), a RANZCOG Essential O&G Skills Advanced Training Module (for advanced trainees wishing to undertake subspecialty training) or a Colposcopy ATM. The Townsville hospital is a tertiary referral hospital with around 2400 births per year, serving a large geographical area from the Torres Strait down to Mackay, and west to Mount Isa. We have a busy Maternal Fetal Medicine training unit and a 2 year AGES advanced laparoscopy fellowship. There is a Urogynaecology service and a 3-weekly Gynaecological Oncology service with visiting specialists from Brisbane. STP Fellow in Urogynaecology and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery
Applications are invited from Year 5/6 trainees for a one-year, DOHA -funded Specialist Training Position in Urogynaecology commencing February 2023. This position offers excellent tertiary-level experience in vaginal and laparoscopic pelvic floor surgery along with the opportunity for gaining advanced skills in advanced laparoscopic gynaecologic surgery and exposure to robotic surgery. The successful candidate will also be expected to facilitate medical student teaching and be actively involved in research, presentations and publications. There may be an opportunity for an adjunct role as a Lecturer with James Cook University and a casual contract with the Townsville Hospital. The post will ideally suit senior registrars with a special interest in urogynaecology and general gynaecology. The trainee is expected to have successfully passed the memberships exams and have made adequate progress towards the completion of their allocated RANZCOG Research Project.
