Job Description

Epworth HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Gynaecology Registrar (Advanced Trainee level 5 or 6) to join the Gynaecology team at Epworth Freemasons in August 2023 in a full time capacity for six months. This role is RANZCOG approved for non-core training.

Based at Epworth Freemasons, this role provides an outstanding opportunity to be involved in, and gain experience as part of a dedicated team that includes visiting specialists in a full range of gynaecological sub-specialties. The range of specialty areas includes gynaecological cancer, robotic gynaecological surgery, gynaecological endoscopic surgery, gynaecological repair surgery, uro-gynaecological surgery, and fertility- related treatment. 

This role entails working closely with Specialist Gynaecologists and will include involvement in the following activities:

  • Extensive surgical experience
  • Daily ward rounds
  • Ward duties and patient management
  • Admission of new, review and research trial patients
  • Research project work
  • Audit activities, multi-disciplinary meetings, and treatment-planning meetings
  • Academic commitments (e.g., journal club) and teaching.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Commitment to a career in Gynaecology
  • Sound clinical knowledge, skills, and experience in contemporary evidence-based practice appropriate for this senior level of training
  • Proficiency in academic and scholarly enquiry
  • Strong interpersonal and multi-disciplinary team working skills
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • An understanding of current issues facing the Australian healthcare system

The ideal candidate will have:

  • General registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Registration with the RANZCOG as an Advanced Trainee
