• Total Indicative Remuneration: $340,427 - $765,470 p.a. - MD2 - Ongoing Full-Time 

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care for more than 400,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide and boasts newly redeveloped wards and Emergency and Outpatient Departments, with plans for the addition of more brand-new facilities in the near future. An exciting opportunity exists to join NALHN within their highly skilled Women & Children's Division, providing a family friendly environment and service for the families of Northern Adelaide. 

The Women & Children's Division work closely with one another to promote a brilliant and fair working environment. With a wide mix of staffing from Consultants to Resident Medical Officers, Nurses, Midwives and a supportive administrative team both front and back of house.

As an Obstetric & Gynaecology Consultant you will be responsible for:

• managing the care of all patients allocated to you in collaboration with the responsible Resident Medical Officers, Registrars, fellow Consultants, Midwives, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.
• participating in after-hour on-call roster with both first and second on call commitments.
• supervision and management of the Labour ward.
• management of Gynaecological emergencies.

In this role you will have involvement in Continuous Quality Improvement activities, auditing and continuing Education activities.

Flexible rostering arrangements are a key component of this role which may include: 

• Labour ward shifts
• Obstetrical and Gynaecological Clinics
• Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatre lists
• Junior doctor teaching and supervision
• AGU clinics
• Supervision of and resource for Midwives
• Clinical research
• Provision of women's health care for women regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation

To be eligible for this position you are required to hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
