This is a Commonwealth Govt funded specialist training programme (STP) post for a RANZCOG senior registrar (year 5 or 6) or fellow, who has not yet obtained their FRANZCOG, but who wishes to obtain and develop their skills in the area of advanced cytoreductive surgery for abdominopelvic malignancy / gynaecological oncology. The position is located at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse / Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Prince of Wales Private Hospital in Sydney. This position is an opportunity to develop experience in complex open and laparoscopic surgery for malignant conditions, and to develop research skills and complete a research project relating to cancer. There is also exposure to robotic surgical training.
The position involves collaboration with other surgical disciplines including colorectal, urological ,and upper GIT surgery. You will attend weekly multidisciplinary meetings in gynaecological oncology and fortnightly multidisciplinary meetings in peritonectomy surgery.
