  • Contribute to formal teaching sessions for medical education within the hospital
  • Role model best practice care for patients

By volunteering at the NRH, you will help develop the medical workforce in a country that has for long had the lowest doctor-to-population ratio in the Pacific. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a successful volunteer program that has been underway for seven years at the National Referral Hospital.

 About the Position:

  • You’ll be supervising interns in the wards and working with local registrars and consultants
  • You’ll need patience, resilience, and a set of different expectations – Solomon Islands is a low-to-middle income country
  • You’ll gain great insights into a highly diverse community facing many challenges.

This role will suit an advanced trainee who has an interest in clinical education and is committed to building clinical knowledge and skills for junior doctors. Ideally, candidates should have a firm grasp of the principles of adult learning, and experience in clinical supervision.

We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer internationally and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible.
