The Clinical Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Northeast Health Wangaratta will be supported by an established Nursing Leadership team and lead a dedicated team of Consultants and Junior Medical Workforce who are focused on providing optimal clinical outcomes for the women of the North East.
Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is a busy sub-regional health service that is the major referral facility for the greater part of North East Victoria. NHW provides a wide range of acute specialist medical and surgical services including; an emergency department, critical care unit, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, sub acute rehabilitation, aged care, community and cancer services.
Northeast Health Wangaratta is a growing maternity service with approximately 90 births per month. It is a referral hospital for small rural hospitals in the region including Yarrawonga, Beechworth and Mansfield. The Maternity ward consists of 4 birthing suites, 6 postnatal beds and is supported by a 6 cot special care nursery.
Offering public gynaecology and antenatal outpatient clinics and 3 gynaecology theatre lists per week.
This position will also allow for provide services to NHW for elective and emergency obstetrics and gynaecology and will share on-call cover with our existing Obstetrician/Gynaecologists. The successful applicant will be required to relocate to Wangaratta region.
You must have Specialist Registration with the AHPRA. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FRANZCOG) and appropriate experience.
NHW is the major regional health service and specialist referral facility for Northeast Victoria. It serves a population of approximately 90,000, performs over 6,500 procedures a year and has approximately 700 births per year. It has an onsite radiology, pathology and blood bank service as well as a newly opened modern 8 bed Intensive Care Unit.
Wangaratta is under three hours drive from Melbourne. It is in a magnificent rural setting with snow fields, rivers, vineyards, national parks and a host of recreational activities on offer. It has over 11 schools including private Catholic and Anglican schooling options for pre-year 12. It is within 45 minute drive to Albury which is a large rural city that has also has a regional airport.
