Doctors in Training 2023 - Advanced Trainee/Senior Registrar - DDU

We are offering an exceptional and unique opportunity for a Level 5 or 6 trainee with an interest in ultrasound and high-risk obstetrics to undertake advanced training within the public and private sector. Ultrasound training in both obstetrics and gynaecology will be provided at the RHH and Women’s Imaging, and obstetric skills will be advanced through the care of high-risk pregnancies, in the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) clinics and on labour ward.

The position is aimed at trainees who would like to commence the DDU (Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound, Obstetrics and Gynaecology), and would suit both those considering subspecialty training (CMFM or COGU), or those wishing to remain generalists with a special interest in these areas. The following areas will be covered:

• Obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound training – Women’s Imaging, Hobart, and MFM Clinics, Wellington Clinics, RHH
• Labour ward management – RHH
• High Risk Antenatal Clinic; Obstetric Endocrine Clinic – Wellington Clinics, RHH
• Postnatal and pre-pregnancy counselling sessions
• Administration Session

Salary

$97,946 - $138,593 per annum

Fixed term, full time day work, 80 hours per fortnight, commencing 06 February 2023 until 05 February 2024.

Duties

The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after-hours emergency cover at the hospital as determined by the Medical Workforce Unit
