We proudly provide top quality healthcare to our population. Our department consists of a 14 room maternity unit with four birthing rooms, a level two six cot neonatal unit and a dedicated Women's Health Unit.

As a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for us, you will have a personal commitment to providing an effective and efficient inpatient and outpatient service and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a tight knit team. This position offers you a broad experience in all aspects of Obstetric and Gynaecology Medicine and with that spearhead optimum health and wellbeing to our Dunedin community. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and to providing training to students at all levels.

You will be collaborating with a group of talented consultants who share your purpose and unwavering determination to advance health outcomes for all women. Applicants must have completed, or be about to complete their specialist training and be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand.

Piki Te Ora (Southern DHB) covers the largest geographical catchment of all the DHB's in New Zealand. We deliver to a population of approximately 329,000 people over the Otago and Southland regions, through two main centres, Dunedin and Invercargill. Our department is also affiliated to the Dunedin School of Medicine University of Otago and has a strong focus on educational development with daily obstetric handover and weekly teaching sessions.

This vacancy is best suited to someone who have completed, or about to complete their specialist training and be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand. It is a requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. For us to consider your application, you must have started this process to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion. For more information check EPIC Credentialing.
