Staff Specialist - Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Full time position (initial 12 month contract)
38 hours per week available

The maternity service at Ballarat Health is the birthplace for approximately 1500 births annually and is a level 5 service in the Victorian Maternity Services Capability Framework. Our maternity service cares for women birthing from 32 weeks and 1300g and is supported by our Special Care Nursery, excellent Anaesthetic and Emergency Department support and a 24-hour Intensive Care Unit. There is support also from urogynaecology and gynaecology oncology subspecialists.

The currently advertised position is a fixed contract three-month full-time position 38 hours per week, negotiable for ongoing work. Payment is at the AMA award rate as per the AMA EBA 2018 including access to CME and hospital phone payment.

The successful applicant would work in all areas of inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynaecology services on a rotating basis. The successful applicant is required to do on call overnight general obstetrics and gynaecology on a rotating basis. The unit is well supported by an experienced team of eleven Obstetrician Gynaecologists, seven registrars and six junior Hospital Medical Officers.
