Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.

The primary role of the O&G Senior Resident is to consolidate and enhance clinical skills in the provision of high quality patient care and develop collaborative relationships with other junior and senior medical staff and nursing, allied health and other support staff to obtain the Diploma in Obstetrics through the DRANZCOG Training Program.

This position is suitable for trainees who are interested in pursuing a career in General Practice and/or who are interested in a stepping stone into entering Obstetrics & Gynaecology training pathway.

Essential criteria to be eligible to apply:

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Minimum of PGY3 at commencement of training year
  • An interest in developing Obstetric and Gynaecology skills and knowledge

Desirable criteria:

  • Commitment to rural or remote medical practice as well as specialist registration as a GP, or alternatively enrolment in a pathway to fellowship
