An opportunity exists for an experienced and recognised senior clinical leader to make a real difference to the health of women and children as the Clinical Director, Obstetrics & Gynaecology of the Goulburn Valley Health Service (GV Health).
The Clinical Director Obstetrics & Gynaecology will be highly motivated to lead a skilled clinical team, working in partnership with the Divisional Operations Director to achieve the efficient and effective management of the Department. The Clinical Director is also responsible for the provision of clinical and strategic leadership, continual monitoring and improvement of quality patient care as well as ensuring risk minimisation.
GV Health provides a wide range of acute and primary health care services with a 280-bed hospital at Shepparton and health services in surrounding districts. There are 16 beds in the maternity unit, 5 birth suites and 10 special care nursery beds. An extensive range of services is provided for Women and Children with obstetrics and gynaecology, maternity and paediatric teams. Goulburn Valley Health is committed to creating an environment which supports breastfeeding and promotes the health and well-being of all mothers and babies, with approximately 1000 births per annum. Refurbishment of the birth suite and ward is in progress and scheduled for completion in 2021, which will have all the facilities to accommodate parents/carers throughout their stay.
This challenging role provides an opportunity for a capable leader who can create a service at the forefront of health care innovation and excellence for Obstetrics & Gynaecology in rural Victoria. Registration by AHPRA as a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, are an essential requirement. Postgraduate qualifications in leadership will be highly regarded.
