South West Healthcare (SWH) is the major acute referral site for the South West Region and has a Deakin Clinical School onsite and is the largest employer in the region. 

We are a growing health care facility and have recently received funding for stage 2 redevelopment works which will deliver expanded state of the art theatre facilities and best practice models of care to meet the growing needs of the local community.

About the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department

The department cares for approx. 750 births each year and provides both antenatal and gynaecological public outpatient clinics, including general gynaecology, urogynaecology, colposcopy and laparoscopic surgery for the south west region.

The department is supported by 4 O & G Specialists, 2 accredited registrars, 2 GP registrars (Diploma and Advanced Diploma candidates) and an HMO. We are a supportive and cohesive team.

 

What you bring

The successful applicant will have a medical degree fully registrable with AHPRA, the qualification of FRANZCOG or other equivalent specialist qualification. You will have a broad experience in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to enable confident clinical practice in a regional area and a commitment to quality improvement activities related to the practice. Effective communication, conflict management  and team building skills along with experience in training junior medical staff is also essential.
