We are seeking a Staff Specialist to join an enthusiastic team of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists who are passionate about providing high quality health care to the women of North Queensland.

We currently have a fixed term temporary full-time opportunity for a Staff Specialist to commence ASAP up to 03/07/2022.

About your opportunity

The role of the Staff Specialist (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients and clients of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). This includes teaching the health professionals of the future and a contribution to surgical training as well as research.

You will lead and manage the provision of medical services in accordance with the standard of the speciality, the ethics of the profession and in accordance with the THHS and Queensland Health policies, in a hospital, community and outreach setting.

The role contains a Gynaecology and Obstetrics caseload and will suit a specialist wishing to:

  • Join an enthusiastic team of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists who are passionate about providing high quality health care to the women of North Queensland.
  • Work collaboratively with other specialists and health professionals involved in the delivery of gynaecology and maternity care.
  • Provide supportive leadership to a team of junior doctors who work within the service.

Generous remuneration package value up to $431,397 p.a. comprising salary range of $6888.00 to $8733.20 p.f. (L18-L27), recreational leave loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, regional and rural attraction allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development assistance (allowances and leave), and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable), corporate discounts, wellness programs and the Employee Assistance Program.
