The Pelvic Surgery Registrar position will be best suited to a level 5 or 6 trainee, with preference given to those who have passed the Fellowship exams. The position will be principally attached to the Gynaecologic Oncology service, with other senior registrar duties including after-hours cover, teaching and supervision of junior trainees. This position is particularly suited to a Trainee in their elective years who wishes to consolidate their surgical skills prior to entering specialist practice or subspecialist training. Experience will be gained in open and laparoscopic pelvic surgery and the care of women with complex surgical and medical conditions.

Salary                                   

$134,930 - $189,005 per annum

Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

Period of Employment

Fixed term, full time, day work 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro rata), commencing 2 February 2026 until 1 February 2027.  

Please note up to 24-month contract negotiable.

Duties

The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after-hours emergency cover at the hospital as determined by the Medical Staffing Unit. The Registrar will participate in the weekend and public holiday roster for delivery suite and general obstetrics and gynaecology and will spend a short rotation away from the Gynaecology unit to enable ITP registrar training in gynae-oncology. 

Essential Requirements

  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
