An opportunity is available for an Obstetrics & Gynaecology BASIC TRAINEE (previously advertised as Senior Resident Medical Officer – SRMO) at the Royal Hobart Hospital. The Basic Trainee will work on the resident roster however will be expected to fill a registrar role if there is a gap due to unexpected leave in the registrar roster. The Basic Trainee will be rostered to allow the appropriate clinical experience to enable the step up to the senior position as required and to develop a degree of independent practice. The successful applicant will be expected to compile the resident roster with consultant assistance, manage leave and encourage participation of residents in educational and unit activities. The Basic Trainee will be expected the meet with new residents at the beginning of rotation and to meet regularly with the O&G resident cohort. It is expected that the Basic Trainee will undertake appropriate audit and research activities. |
Salary $134,930 per annum In accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 |

Period of Employment Fixed term, full time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight, plus 10 hours protected training time per fortnight (pro rata) commencing 2 February 2026 – 1 February 2027 (24 months negotiable).
