Yr 5 (Advanced) FRANZCOG Trainee Positions Yr 6 (Advanced) FRANZCOG Trainee Positions

Job Description

QEII Advanced Gynaecology role 2026

Overview:

QEII is excited to offer two 12-month gynaecology advanced training positions for 2026.

These roles offer advanced trainees the opportunity to work in a dynamic tertiary gynaecology unit that provides a broad range of generalist and subspecialist gynaecology services. Exceptional surgical exposure, both in volume and complexity of cases, is a feature of these roles.

QEII Jubilee Hospital, on Brisbane’s southside, is one of five major facilities within Metro South Health and one of Queensland’s busiest gynaecology services. The hospital serves a diverse community and is located in Coopers Plains, 12km from the Brisbane CBD.

Position description:

QEII hospital is seeking advanced trainees (RANZCOG 5th or 6th year) for these two full-time 12 month roles, commencing February 2026.

Trainees at QEII rotate through different advanced gynaecology training roles, working in the fields of advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, urogynaecology and pelvic floor disorders, colposcopy, sexual and reproductive health and general gynaecology. There is flexibility to prioritise rotations in a particular interest area if desired. The successful candidates will participate in a 1:4after hours remote on-call roster, which is typically valued by our trainees as excellent preparation for specialist practice after training. All trainees in the department are expected to participate in the departmental education program, medical student teaching, M&M meetings and audits, and are afforded ample non-clinical time to make the most of these opportunities.

Who should apply?

The QEII Advanced Gynaecology roles ideally suit a senior registrar completing RANZCOG’s Generalist O&G Training Pathway who is looking to further their gynaecology skills towards the end of their training or who may be interested in pursuing subspecialty urogynaecology or AGES training.

The following RANZCOG modules can be achieved at QEII during this 12-month role:
