The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology are looking for a Maternal Fetal Medicine staff specialist to join their multidisciplinary team. Full or Part Time applicants will be considered.
You will provide high quality evidence-based care, close to home, to ta diverse population and in a growing Maternal Fetal Medicine Service in South East Queensland.
The role requires flexibility to work in fetal and maternal medicine and support provision of tertiary ultrasound and procedures.
Working closely with midwives, sonographers and consultants within the MFM unit, and more broadly in Obstetrics and Paediatrics, you will help to steer the development of the growing service as well as support registrar training, research and innovation.
Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) or Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU) is required.

Gynaecology
We provide general gynaecological services for women, with a focus on management of menstrual disorders, contraceptive services, family advisory services, reproductive endocrinology including ovulation disorders, pelvic floor dysfunction and female incontinence of urine, management of menopause, plus a number of other acute and chronic gynaecological disorders.
Our outpatient gynaecology service provides specialist care for women with: menstrual and other gynaecological bleeding disorders, endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain, pelvic floor problems (pelvic organ prolapse), urinary Incontinence, infertility assessment and initial treatment, sexual dysfunction, and menopausal symptoms.
Logan Hospital has an experienced team of gynaecologists who offer advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, pelvic reconstructive work, minimal access urological procedures and vaginal surgery. This service is for young women from 13 years to 19 years of age with gynaecological problems.
We also provide colposcopy services, which is an individualised specialist service for women with pap smear abnormalities. We have a dedicated clinic that is assigned to colposcopic assessment, cervical biopsy and post-treatment follow up care.
Maternity
We provide high quality maternity services for women across our region, with a focus on ensuring the very best care and experience for the patient and their family.
Our aim is to ensure the birthing experience is centered around the patients choices, and that they are given information to assist to make choices which are based on the most up to date evidence and made by informed consent. Our post-natal environment is aimed at supporting parents to build their confidence in how best to care for their newborn baby.
Logan Hospital has birthing suites with individual ensuites. We support women in their birthing choices and facilitate active labour, by encouraging mobilisation, and maintenance of normality, by having dimmed lighting and music available. We have showers available in all birth suite rooms, and we are looking forward to introducing birthing pools in our refurbished unit.
We have 24/7 obstetric and paediatric support and a Special Care Nursery.
A birthing suite lounge with tea and coffee making facilities is available for support people to have a short break during labour. Food is available at cafes on the second floor of the hospital or at the nearby shops.
