An exciting opportunity exists for specialists with expertise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) to join the O&G Department Wollongong Hospital.

This position is primarily based at Wollongong Hospital but may be asked to work at one of the other locations across the ISLHD on occasion where required.
The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Service within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. This care will be provided for within the scope of practice granted by the Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist is responsible for the provision of specialist services to emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients.
The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will ensure provision of high-quality O&G services to all patients within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will proactively:
• Support the development of O&G services
• Support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice
• Support and develop O&G research within the department

The Wollongong Hospital is a 500+ bed centre which provides both general and specialty medical and surgical services including adult intensive care and coronary care units.
An academic suite at Wollongong Hospital supports both the Graduate School of Medicine and School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Wollongong. As such there are teaching and research opportunities through the UOW Graduate School of Medicine.
